You lie still on a padded table that slides into the scanner. It is noisy, so ear protection is provided and you can speak to the technologist throughout.

Remove all metal
Jewellery, watches, hairpins and clothing with zips or hooks.
Declare implants
Pacemaker, cochlear implant, metal plate, stent or surgical clips.
